Bill came all the way from St. Croix to find his family! On the island, there is a huge surplus of stray dogs and very few adopters so a rescue group down there arranges to fly a few lucky ones to the states. Bill arrived with a volunteer traveler on Halloween. We really don't know what his breed mix is, but he has a lab face, corgi legs and a spitz tail. Whatever the mix, it combines perfectly into cuteness. Bill is friendly and energetic and eager to please. Would you like to welcome this new US citizen into your home?

Brooklyn is a very smart fun-loving active girl. She does very well in her crate and is very close to potty-trained as well as having good household manners. She loves people and playing with her toys which include her fosters big dogs. This little girl was rescued from New Jersey with a very treatable skin condition. Over the last two months while in foster she has recovered fully and now has a beautiful brindle coat. Brooklyn loves to cuddle and snuggle and has been known to steal most of the covers. Brooklyn enjoys going for walks and car rides. She is the perfect match for an active family who can give her all the love, attention and guidance she deserves. Adopt a Senior Cat in November

November is the month we set aside in the U.S. to give thanks for our blessings. Most people count their cats among their blessings, and in many cases, senior cats. While there is something very special about raising and caring for a young cat through its senior years, it takes a really special person to intentionally seek out and adopt a senior cat and give him or her a loving, caring home for the remainder of its life. These cats sometimes come with medical conditions requiring regular extra care and expensive medications. They are often not as playful or cute as younger cats and kittens. However, they simply can't be matched for devotion, unconditional love, and warm companionship.

Senior cats are perfect companions for older people who find it difficult to keep up with the antics of kittens. Older cats as housemates help fill in the void of loneliness and provide measurable benefits in lowering blood pressure and stress relief.

For many years, the ASPCA and Petfinder.com have worked together to sponsor November is the Adopt a Senior Pet Month.
